Bono is also part of Sightings Of Bono, a seven-minute film shot in Dublin in 2000 (based on a short story by Irish writer Gerard Beirne) about a girl who sees the U2 lead singer everywhere until she eventually meets him in the shop where she works. The short was seen in a few theaters and on the Internet but has never been released elsewhere until now.

Bono Sighted On DVDThe cult Irish mini-movie 'Sightings of Bono' will soon be on DVD as part of a compilation of Irish music.The 'Greatest Irish Bands' DVD will feature U2, Sinead O'Connor, The Pogues, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, The Corrs, Stiff Little Fingers, Hothouse Flowers, The Undertones, Boomtown Rats, The Cranberries, Rory Gallagher, and Clannad featuring Bono and also the short film.'Sightings of Bono' is just seven minutes long. It was shot in Dublin in 2000. It is about a girl who thinks she sees Bono everywhere and then one day he walks into her shop.The film was shown as a short in some Irish movies and was available on the internet but the DVD release will be it's commercial debut.The DVD will be released at the end of February.

Bono pays Stipe's £6,000 bill...
U2 singer Bono forked out £6,000 for the bill last week for the 40th birthday party of Julia, Michael Stipe from REM's bestfriend. The party in a Dublin restaurant was last weekend and 20 top stars enjoyed 8 bottles of Crystal and a bill came to £300 a head which the U2 singer Bono paid without a second glance.
Among the guests were REM's Michael Stipe, Bono and his wife Ali, supermodel Helena Christenson and the father of her child Norman Reedus, Bono's bestfriend Gavin Friday and REM's bassist Mike Mills to name but a few.
The party went on to just before 2am. The following day Bono didn't turn up until the evening to shoot his new work of art. A short film called "Sightings of Bono."
Taking a break the star popped into the new VIVA bar on South William Street for a wake up cure before popping into Lillies Bordello nightclub on Sunday night. All before another day of filming on Monday.

A short film titled "Sightings of Bono" was shot in Dublin last weekend starring Bono, the U2 lead singer.
A completely Irish project, the story was written by well know Irish writer Gerard Beirne and adapted by Kathy Gilfillan and produced by Parallel Films. The story focuses on a Dublin girl called Ellen (played by Marcella Plunkett) who sees Bono everywhere until she eventually meets him in the shop where she works.

Bono arrived, relaxed and happy, on the set on Sunday afternoon to shoot the interior scenes. In between takes, Bono relaxed outside with friends and crew much to the delight of tourists, fans and passersby. Bono had a warm word for everyone including a young toddler whom he advised to "Vote for Bono".

The production then moved around the corner to shoot exteriors in front of Abrakebabra on Stephen St. A crowd quickly gathered to cheer on the singer.

The film will premiere exclusively on AllIrelandnow.com shortly.
